Alicein Wonderland Schwabacher

DAY 115 Alicein Wonderland Schwabacher photographed exclusively for the 100 Men Hall People Project (100MHPP). 

The Hall was closed up when I was young, but we played on the railroad tracks and tried to sneak in the building. I didn’t know what it was, but some buildings call to you and this one did call. I was about ten, and we would try to look in the windows. Later, I was in the burlesque troupe with the Tarts and Tramps for a show here. The first musical show I saw was probably Walter Wolfman Washington because I love him, and I would see him. The building has good energy. The building still calls to me. Later, I understood its significance, but I didn’t understand why it wasn’t better known. My family wasn’t segregated in Bay Saint Louis so why didn’t I know more about the Hall? I thought that it was strange.
