DAY 014 David and Cameron Adams photographed exclusively for the 100 Men Hall People Project (100MHPP).
It was the name of the Hall that first caught my attention- the Hundred Members Debating Benevolent Association. I thought that was so, so cool. When I learned more about the history of the Hall, I was hooked and knew I wanted to know more. My first encounter with the Hall happened after the Loyas had put out a message that they needed volunteers to help plant some trees around the property. I had started a small group of volunteer students named the Bay Bike Project and thought this was a great opportunity to give back and to be a part of the Hall's history...those trees are still there. The first concert I saw there was Walter "Wolfman" Washington. It was incredible. After that I was able to see Little Freddie King for a New Year’s Eve show. Once again, an incredible show. When you step into the Hall you can't help but feel the history that the place has experienced. It is amazing to think of all the talent that has been featured between those walls: BB King, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Etta James. It just goes on and on. The proudest moment for me at the Hall just happened. My son, Cameron, had his graduation party at the 100 Men and played music on the same stage that Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry, and Howlin' Wolf played on. The boys held their own, sounded great, and made their mark in history at the Hall....long live the 100 Men DBA!
