DAY 179 Karen Aderer and Kerry Langford photographed exclusively for the 100 Men Hall People Project (100MHPP). 

I learned about the Hall when the documentary, Call Before Demo, was being filmed. I was one of the people who crowd funded the video. Then when they unveiled the Blues marker I came to the event and Deacon John and the Homemade Jamz were playing. I saw the Pink Magnolias and the burlesque show for the Tarts and Tramps. We came to see Cedric Burnside (Oct 2018). That was Kerry’s first show here. Then we saw Lucious Spiller last night (Feb 2019). I saw the trailer for the video, and they talked about how it was a mutual aid society.  I am a social work instructor at USM and showed the trailer in my class and only one in 17 of the students (who range in age from 22 to 50 years old) had heard of the Hall. They were fascinated by the story, especially a lot of the Black students who had not known about the mutual aid society.
