BSL Film Festival - Jan 3-4, 2025
Bay St. Louis, MS—The Bay St. Louis Film Festival kicks off January 3-4, 2025 with new documentary and fiction films, a smartphone filmmaking workshop and talks with filmmakers and writers at the town’s legendary 100 Men Hall.
The festival will screen two features: NORITA, an important new documentary about struggles of the mothers of ‘disappeared’ children during Argentina’s dictatorial regime in the 1970’s presented by producer Sarah Anne Schoellkopf and COOKIE’S FORTUNE, Robert Altman’s Mississippi filmed comedy penned and presented guest Anne Rapp.
Also scheduled is Bart Weiss’s Smartphone Cinema Workshop which focuses on making legitimate film projects using the ubiquitous tech found in pockets everywhere.
“We believe watching great films and discussing how they’re made with people who have done the work is an inspiration for creating new work…and it’s fun,” said festival director and independent filmmaker Steve Mims.
The festival will conclude with a beach party and bonfire at Bay St. Louis’s Washington Street Pavilion.
